Edit 2022.03: much the same, except sushi is now $4.20 instead of $3.50. Quality of some of the nigiri has fallen (I'm talking the raw fish ones). Hotate (scallops) had no flavour. But in comparison to some of the sushi trains that I've been to, it's actually not terrible. Wasabi was nice and hot.
Ipad is still slow as ever. The leather seats were dated and urgently need replacement.
Customer service remains the same. I don't expect much from a busy sushi train shop where it's really about how quickly you can turn the tables around to fit as many customers as possible in a small amount of time. Trust me, I've been there and done that, it's not the nicest job. Be nice and understanding and they won't bite you.
In summary, I'd give them about 3.8 stars, but since you can only give whole stars, I'll round it up to 4. Still one of my favourite sushi trains in Brisbane.
Original review from 2020: This is our favourite sushi train to go to. It's conveniently located in Coorparoo Square, which is a short 10 minute walk from where we live. It's also about a 10 minute walk from Coorparoo train station and serviced by many buses.
We've been here many times and it does look like ownership has changed at some point. Food is great regardless, though. The presentation could be improved on the large rolls because a lot of them are deformed in shape. The taste is excellent and I couldn't complain about it. The price is one of the cheapest around at $3.50 a plate. I give serving size an 8/10 because sometimes the real sushi (nigiri with raw fish) can have small cuts of fish. The menu is extensive as well, providing a large range of sushi and sides to choose from.
Customer service hasn't been the best, unfortunately. The previous iPads had issues with pressing buttons and sometimes didn't refresh the bill after the previous customers had paid for their bill, which made it difficult to track orders. The new iPads are now easier to press buttons but there appears to be connectivity issues, with orders taking a long time to send. The waiting staff could definitely use more training in the technology to assist customers better because they can never figure out how to fix an issue. Food can be extremely slow to arrive and/or get forgotten; this happens quite often.
The restaurant is in a clean state.
